Transcription Reviewer
(In Office, Toronto)
We are currently looking to hire a full-time Transcription Reviewer. This job involves reviewing and editing transcription work and performing quality assurance audio reviews of completed transcripts. You will be required to work in-office for training purposes for 3 days a week for 3 weeks.
Responsibilities
Reviewing completed work to identify potential areas of self-improvement.
Learning and following client house rules (i.e., client-specific preferences in formatting, spelling, capitalization, and editing conventions)
Holding all third-party (client) information in the strictest confidentiality
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience in transcription and review
Strong English grammar and comprehension
Ability to understand global accents
Minimum 80 Words per Minute typing speed
Computer literacy with strong MS Word skills
Ability to understand at least one or more of the following accents in the English language is required:
West African (including Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Mali)
East African (including Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia)
South Asian accents (including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan)
East Asian accents (including China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia)
Middle Eastern accents (including Iran, Iraq, Turkey)
Eastern Bloc European accents (including Russia, Romania, Georgia)
Latin American accents (including Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela)
French accents (including Quebec, France, Congo, Cameroon)
Strong command of a second language beyond English is preferred
At least 18 years of age due to violent and graphic content.
Current RCMP criminal background check Level 1 upon hiring.

Work Location & Hours
Office near Fairview Mall, about a 15-minute walk from the Don Mills subway station.
Open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with morning, afternoon and evening shifts.
Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, with morning and afternoon shifts.
Compensation
Starts at $21/hr
Three month probation
Vacation as per ESA standards, and is paid out on each pay cheque
Full health benefits are provided, including pharma, dental, eye, chiro, physio, etc., after three months of probation, for all staff working at least 37.5 hours per week.
